Deactivated WW2 British Lanchester Mk.I* sub machine gun, originally chambered for the 9mm cartridge. Marked to the brass magazine well, LANCHESTER MK.I with serial number below. Marked to both sides of the bayonet lug ring, and stamped S271 to the sling swivel, showing production by the British firm, Boss & Co., who produced the least amount of Lanchesters, being only 4000. Proof marked to the barrel ring and dated 1943. The cleaned hard wood stock is fitted with a brass butt plate with a trap door, similar to the SMLE service rifle, for storage of an oiler and pull through for cleaning of the barrel. The Mk.I is a simplified version of the original MkI, which used a simplified two position flip sight. Complete with a WW2 issue P37 webbed sling. Old spec deactivation with a functioning bolt that does not lack back, and does not cock the mechanism. The disassembly switch at the rear of the receiver functions and allows the receiver assembly to pivot up out of the stock. Shows both internal and external welds, with a weld blocked chamber and a removeable issue magazine that is pinned to 5 rounds. SKU: 63862 DEACTIVATED. NO PAL REQUIRED. CANADIAN SALES ONLY.
